Background Information: Aoidos is a member and the self-proclaimed de-factor leader of the Doss. He is the vocalist and lead guitarist. The other members are as follows: Baal (guitar), Rackam (bass), and Vyrn (drums). In respect to himself, he claims that he is "a man born with talent and looks that make the gods green with envy. They can't help but screw with me." He is really not the most normal guy around but that's fine who cares about normalcy here?
Chapter 1: Aoidos' manager presents him with a letter formally inviting the Doss to play at the Auguste Festival. This festival can make or break a musician's career. He plans to write a new song in time for the event, but falls into a slump due to the pressure. Aoidos finds Lyria humming a tune and forces her to join his band (side note: this is how his other members were recruited too). For a performance with the group she is the star, with the audience loving her! Except for two young men in the audience, one built with a small frame and the other wrapped in bandages, who find the performance to be insufferable. Show is a total hit and revives Aoidos' paassion ("pathos"), but his writers block remains, leaving him literally screaming all the time. The manager thinks it may be due to a group called the Vicious Three appearing on the festival's setlist.
Chapter 2: Vicious Three is a band known for extremely violent shows and a cult following in the underground society. They follow the score like a musician's gospel. One time on the Grandcypher, Rackam and Vyrn saw Aoidos get recognized as Vicious Three. The Doss presumes that them being present at the festival is no coincidence. Aoidos told the manager that the sound he seeks lies in his lost memories. The group practices already existing songs of theirs to hopefully aid Aoidos, and forces Rackam to practice the same thing over and over again. Aoidos faces a hallucination from his past. His mental condition deteriorates while his manager suggests they leave the festival, something he refuses to do. The band goes on hiatus.
Chapter 3: During this haitus, Baal fills in for another band who's guitarist is sick. He doesn't really enjoy it and misses the Doss. A familar small-framed young man invites him to come fill in for this band. Meanwhile, Rackam and Vyrn consider quitting, but look at their respective instruments and conclude that they can't just give up when they've gone this far. Baal, Rackam, and Vyrn return to the Doss. Aoidos goes for a walk to clear his head, but two masked musicians approach him. This incites distressing flashbacks. They force a sword into his hand while the large man pins his free hand behind his back. Aoidos begins to act erratically and violently, while the men say that this is only how Benjamin would act, but he needs to regain all his memories first!
Chapter 4: During Aoidos' flashbacks, he gets one of his parent's being at their wit's end of him being a mute child. They say he may be cursed. He comes back to the present moment, faced with the larger man, Valentin, spreading his arms out and saying "Slice me! Abuse me! Come back to us, Benjamin! Take my life away from meee!". Aoidos obliges and stabs him, but to Justin (the smaller-framed man) and Valentin's dismayal, the stab isn't deep enough! Aoidos snaps back, wondering what on earth he is even doing. Justin and Valentin decide to come back with a new plan on a different day to hopefully get their Benjamin back. Aoidos returns to the Doss, stuck in his own world with thoughts on how to kill his bandmates, thoughtss he feels guilty for. The manager has suspicions about where Aoidos was, leading him to pass out from the stress of his thoughts, memories, and creating a song. He is recovering in his room, but no longer speaking. His bandmates think that the issues with Vicious Three are causing the distress, as Aoidos is regaining memories. The Manager reveals to the band that he is Aoidos' adopted brother and actually named Jim, and he taken in by the family to make him talk. After a few years, the whole family eventually stopped talking. "Then one day I heard animal noises coming from Benji's room.", the noises being him killing mice. Jim would get violent outbursts and slap Benjamin to hopefully make him stop. The parent's found the mice and Jim's outbursts, kicking them both out. A decade later, Jim finds Aoidos shortly after the amnesia started, acting in a new way. Jim tries to leave for Aoidos' own good, and reporters flock to interview Aoidos before the festival.
Chapter 5: This is the longest chapter! The band finds posters everywhere claiming a band battle between the Vicious Three and the Doss, something Vicious Three must have set up without the Doss' permission. Vicious Army members and the Doss fans ("Prima Dossers" and "Dossheads") are arguing near the band. The festival crew arranges a meeting for the Vicious Three and Doss to meet and discuss the battle, unplanned to the Doss. Justin and Valentin explain this to be a publicity stunt to prevent the Doss from backing out of the festival. They speak a lot on ad-libbing for some reason... They're also masked... The Doss pulls off their masks and realizes its imposters that Vicious Three set up to keep the Doss away from Aoidos. Meanwhile, the real Justin and Valentin approach Aoidos, who mistakes them for Doss fans. Valentin says "Forget the Doss. Forget Aoidos. We're fans of you." and Justin gives him his guitar, reminding him that he can access his sword by twisting the head of the instrument. Valentin has Justin stab him with Aoidos' sword, this gets freaky quick so I'm not going to discuss that more. Aoidos remembers their names and Justin gives him back the sword. Aoidos gets a strong flashback of how he left the Vicious Three, and this begins with introductions to the members (this info is in the post before this) and a viewer discretion warning! He states they were the ultimate evil and legendary at what they did. Justin compliments Benji on the set they just did, who considered ticket sales and the pit to be trash. Justin demonstrates their fans eating whatever comes their way by launching a rock at Valentin three times, who gives the same pleased reaction all three times. Benjamin makes Valentin crawl and presses his head down with his foot, while explaining a new concept for a song. This song will start with a Grindcore noise of thunder claps and powerful guitar riffs. As a palate cleanser, a piano or string ballad. Justin loses his shit at this and says he is out of his mind, that his balls fell off, and that he's dumbing down his signature violence with a ballad. Benjamin calls him gutter trash, where it's revealed that he found Justin literally in the garbage and an unknown promise was made to him. Benjamin says that he will be giving the score to them tomorrow, to play it then throw up afterwards. Justin yells, "Don't you... Don't you dare throw me away!" and stabs Benjamin in the back, knocking him into an underground river in this cave they are presently living in (they move from cave to cave). Aoidos' memories are now fully integrated, and Justin says "Welcome home" (so sweet and kind). He tries to stab Justin and states he has chosen to perform with the Doss.
Chapter 6: Vicious Three plans for the fans to decide who Aoidos is playing for, and brings him with them and makes him send batches of sheet music to the Doss, who is now practicing without Aoidos. On the day of the festival, Aoidos is still not present making both the crowd and the Doss antsy, they perform a first song with Lyria to sing to hopefully tide the fans over. He arrives and says he will play with both bands as he feels he has a responsibility for both fanbases. The Doss puts all their effort to make a great performance, but Aoidos gets a hallucination of his past self. His consciousness is trying to fight for what life gets control. Aoidos insists that his only concern is putting on a show to last ages. This defeats his hallucination of Benjamin.
Ending: With the hallucination being defeated, Justin states "Yeah. Looks like he got his memories straightened out. Hell, this actually works out better, I think." and presents him the song for the Vicious Three performance. The score outlines "Execute the Doss members. All of them." and the score is a musicians bible. Aoidos remembers his reason for picking up the guitar in the first place, him wanting to replicate the noise of people and animals screaming. He remembers his life with the Vicious Three and Justin's pain and fear of loss with an idea that Benjamin was losing his chaotic sound. Aoidos has to choose the Doss or the Vicious Three, and goes on some weird story about a toothbrush. He makes his choice, he plays the ballad he intended to play with the Vicious Three, and Justin sinks to his knees at what he thinks the choice is. Aoidos says, "Benjamin is dead, If Benjamin is dead, then so is Aoidos. Naturally that means both the Doss and Vicious Three are dead! Today they shake hands, reborn as the Doss Second Season. Say hello to the DossSS!" AKA he forced both groups into a super group. This now has 2 guitarists, 2 bassists, 2 drummers, and 1 vocalist. My GOD man. He says the gods forced him to choose, but he abandoned both in order to keep both. This interaction occurs between Justin and Aoidos:
Aoidos: Are you going to reject me again? Or will you give me a chance?
Justin: Even if I have to listen to you sing things I don't want to hear?
Aoidos: Trust me. There'll be songs for you too.
Justin: If I don't like them, I'll backstab you again.
And he plays a Vicious Three song for crowd Yippee! also a mailman has been waiting on a signature from Aoidos since Chapter 4. Still doesn't have it.
Justin. The band's attack dog, bassist, and natural-born sadist.
Valentin. The shield, a.k.a. sandbag. A thumping good drummer, but even better masochist who'd rather take a good thumping.
